LIFE AS A FASHION INTERN: DAY TEN (FASHION MAGAZINE)

INTERNSHIP: Today was a shoot day. Meaning that we have a photo shoot soon and we need to pick up/ship all of the clothes there by the end of the day. This particular shoot happens to be in Los Angeles with a certain celebrity that I happen to love. Can't give all my secrets away. I honestly do feel like I am in The Devil Wears Prada some times. Today, I ran around the city for hours, going to different designer showrooms and headquarters to pick up thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. From picking up killer Louis Vuitton heels to running across town to grab a Stella McCartney dress, I was always on the run.

Along with packing up all of the trunks for the photo shoot in LA, us fashion department junkies threw a rager in the fashion closet today. My bosses literally are the funniest people in the world. The fashion closet is a blast. We are always listening to oldies or jammin' out to 90's pop band music. We do get our work done, but we also know how to have fun. In the middle of the day today, my boss sent one of the interns out to get a special little treat for the office. This might be one of the more strange requests an intern has received, but this 'little treat' we picked up was the tool used to complete any great American childhood: a hoola-hoop. As soon as the intern got back, the entire department stopped to take a break. We all one by one stepped into the hoola-hoop and took our turn. It was a moment I won't forget. It was so nice to see every one laughing and enjoying their time in the office.

There is a common misconception that people in the fashion industry are rigid and uptight. I have found nothing truthful of this. Everyone I have met thus far works incredibly hard, yet they haven't lost their quirky self. We are all just a bunch of weirdos that dress well and are shoved into a closet filled with incredible fashion designers. It's a hard life, huh?

DAILY KNOWLEDGE:
DUST BAG: The small cotton bag that is shipped with a purse or a pair of shoes in order to keep them clean.

TRUNK: A large trunk used to store all apparel and accessories. These trunks are shipped to the photo shoots that happen outside of New York.

GLOVE PEOPLE: Are insane. That's all.

EAST VILLAGE: Thursday night, Gaby, Reigan and I went to Starbucks for a nice, long night of blogging and gossip. We apparently are way too boring for a blogging party, so fate decided that Starbucks would close at 10 PM, we would be kicked out and that all we would be wearing were workout clothes and laptop bags. Apparently when you are wearing lounge clothes instead of dressing up, that actually makes you stand out MORE. We explored the area, mingled and found a ton of dives that we can go to on the weekend.
